Projects that System Partners have delivered in Japan include:
American semiconductor equipment company Japan Incorporation & transition
Having acquired an operating divison globally from a competitor, the client needed to establish its first legal presence in Japan, and to transfer assets, employees and operations to it. With a one-month target for completion, System Partners successfully handled the Japan aspects of all facets of the project: incorporating the Kabushiki Kaisha, hiring back-office staff, sourcing HR & accounting/tax/payroll/other services, setting up banking, selecting and implementing an ERP and accounting system and executing the cutover of staff, systems, facility & operations. By expert handling of sensitive cross-cultural issues, we were able to promote good relations and communication between management in Japan & the US.
In the client's words, "I truly believe this transition was successful because we hired you to help guide us in the right directions".
Swiss-owned Chinese market research and consulting firm Japan Office Establishment
The client engaged us to execute a systems and audio-visual facility fit-out, which we successfully completed to a very tight deadline allowing in-house delivery of a major project.
The engagement was expanded and extended to six months' interim general management, including establishing financial systems, recruiting the initial team in Japan and developing the business, establishing relationships both here and in Europe.
US semiconductor design and design software company Tokyo office relocation project
System Partners joined for the last two months of this wayward six-month project, successfully identifying and resolving problem areas and bringing the team members together to complete the relocation to a high standard and without slippage. Key to this were our bilingual / bicultural skills coupled with a practical, no-nonsense approach.
British-owned Hong-Kong boutique financial services consulting company Japan market entry
The client approached System Partners to assist with developing its service offering for, and selling that offering to, the Japanese market. We analysed the company's services, advised on packaging them for this market, engaged Japanese lawyers and worked with them to prepare service contracts, and prepared sales/marketing materials.
System Partners identified and engaged a Japanese sales partner together with whom we conducted the initial sales activity, successfully securing the first sale and managing the delivery of the project. We are proud of having been able to sell a small foreign consulting company's front-office cost-optimisation services to this large Japanese asset management firm.
British/American Telco Systems Integration and Project Management; globalisation consulting
We leveraged our bi-cultural skills in managing a systems integration project to deliver the client’s new generation of IP services, and supporting its IT globalisation strategy in the Japan region, with a local project team of 12, plus three major external vendors. We achieved on-time and on-budget delivery of a $10M project in an extremely turbulent organisational environment, as well as successfully bringing Japan-related globalisation issues to the attention of senior management in global headquarters.
